Deliberate Diet Sabotage - a Weight Loss Key?

According to Lyssie Lakatos, R.D, co-author of Fire Up Your Metabolism, giving in to food temptations once in a while will help you stay focused on your diet. Deprivation and feelings of sacrifice are key reasons so many people don’t stay on their diets. Most people can fit a small burger or piece of pie into their weekly diet now and then, and still feel satisfied and motivated to stay on program for the rest of the week.
Tempation is hard, though, so using something to help curb your appetite and sooth those munchies isn't out of the question! Visit www.curbyourcraving.com and check out the 100% natural supplements. No side effects, gauranteed!

I fully agree with this article as a matter of fact we have several people in our family that are diabetic and when first diagnosed trying to get a handle on their blood sugar levels etc and retrain eating habits the hardest part is that feeling of "loss" and deprivation that comes when a person has (or chooses) to make a significant lifestyle change. We've found that allowing a "cheat" here and there does indeed promote better compliance with the diet so I know it's gonna work with wt loss too.
Makes sense to me, in the past I've often set Sunday as a day where I can allow myself to have some special item as a "treat", I chose Sunday as that's a day when we most often have family and/or friends for dinner and this way I"m not eating an orange while everyone else is eating cake and stewing inwardly feeling deprived.
What a great idea, i sure like the thought of giving myself permission to cheat and with the satisfaction that it (the cheat) might actually be doing some good for me :-) how can you NOT like that!!!!
I just ordered some of the Hoodia patches and the tea and sure hope it gets here by Christmas day, actually by Christmas eve would be best, I really really want to kick up and do this weight loss thing right so that i can slim down by spring. LOL ok i know it's early to be thinking about spring but hey if winter passes as fast as fall did, then it won't be long at all will it????? I do like the idea that I can let myself cheat a little bit and that it might actually HELP, that's like some kind of unheard of bonus in my world!!!! What couild be better---gotta love it!! thanks for the article this will help a LOT over the next 3 wks.
Best

I personally don't like the concept of cheating... If you are taking good nutrition, you won't have much of cravings.
But sometimes with my clients I had to introduce this concept.
The concept was simple. If you stick to your diet plan with 90% success rate for the whole week, You'll get 1 Cheat meal of your choice.
So if they are eating 5 times a day. They need to stick to their 32 meal portions.
